The Florida Panthers are nine wins away from one of the rarest feats in modern sports: a Stanley Cup three-peat. Hard Rock Bet currently lists them as the +185 favorite to lift the Cup again; short odds for a futures market with three full rounds still to play.
The market right now
| Team | Stanley Cup odds |
|---|---|
| Florida Panthers | +185 |
| Edmonton Oilers | +280 |
| Colorado Avalanche | +650 |
| Dallas Stars | +900 |
| Carolina Hurricanes | +1100 |
| Field (others) | +700 |
The Panthers’ short price reflects their playoff résumé over the last three postseasons (two championships and a Finals loss); but also the fact that they’ve already navigated a tough first-round series against the Lightning.
Why the price might be sharp
Three factors keep the Panthers favored:
- Sergei Bobrovsky is healthy. Florida’s Cup runs have lived and died on goaltending; and Bobrovsky’s playoff numbers (.927 SV%, 2.18 GAA across the last two runs) have been elite.
- Depth scoring. Matthew Tkachuk, Aleksander Barkov, and Sam Reinhart are all producing, and the bottom-six has chipped in critical goals.
- Home ice through the East. As of this writing, Florida holds home-ice advantage through the Eastern Conference Final.
Why the price might be soft
- Three-peats are rare. The last NHL three-peat was the New York Islanders dynasty (1980-1983). Detroit’s run in the late ’90s topped out at back-to-back. Variance bites.
- The Western Conference is brutal. Edmonton, Colorado, Dallas, and Vegas all have championship-level rosters. The Cup Final is no gimme even if Florida advances.
- Injuries compound. Aaron Ekblad has been playing through a lower-body issue, and the Panthers’ physical playoff style has historically caught up with them late.
The smarter futures play
If you believe in the Panthers but want a hedge:
- Panthers to win Eastern Conference: +130; shorter odds, better hit rate, but no Cup ceiling.
- Panthers to win at least the conference final: +110; a softer milestone that locks in profit before the Cup Final.
Player futures worth watching
- Conn Smythe winner; Tkachuk leads the market at +400. Bobrovsky is the value at +700 if a goaltender carries them.
- Playoff scoring leader; Sam Reinhart at +1800 has been the value bet of multiple Florida bettors after his early-round production.
How to bet futures responsibly
Futures tie up capital for weeks. A reasonable rule: futures stakes should not exceed 5% of your bankroll per ticket, and total futures exposure across all sports should sit under 20% of bankroll. See our futures bet type guide for the full math.
The Panthers’ deep run is also great theater for live betting; second-period unders, goalie save props, and live moneylines move dramatically on every shift. Read more in our live betting guide.
