Hard Rock Bet Geolocation Troubleshooting

Why the app says you're not in Florida (even when you are) and how to fix common geolocation errors before a big bet.

Steps

  1. 01

    Confirm you are inside Florida

Geolocation rejects bets placed outside state lines; including just over the border or on a bridge that briefly crosses water. You must be physically within Florida.

  2. 02

    Enable Location Services

On iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → On, and set Hard Rock Bet to "Always" or "While Using". On Android: Settings → Location → On.

  3. 03

Install the GeoComply Plugin (desktop only)

If betting from a laptop, Hard Rock Bet requires the GeoComply browser plugin. Mobile apps have it built in.

  4. 04

    Disable VPNs and proxies

Any VPN or location-masking software triggers an automatic block. Turn off all VPNs (iCloud Private Relay too) and re-check.

  5. 05

    Restart the app

Force-close Hard Rock Bet, reopen, and let geolocation re-check. This fixes 80% of false-positive blocks.

Troubleshooting

"You are not in Florida" error inside Florida
Likely cause: iCloud Private Relay (iOS) or a VPN you forgot is running. Turn both off and restart the app.
Works on Wi-Fi but not cellular
Your carrier may be routing through an out-of-state node. Switch back to Wi-Fi or move to an area with stronger cell signal.
Near the state border
Geolocation has a ~1-mile buffer. If you're in Panhandle or close to the GA/AL border, the app may reject you. Move further into Florida.

Notes

  • Hard Rock Bet uses GeoComply, the same provider as DraftKings, FanDuel, and most major U.S. sportsbooks
  • You do not need GPS on continuously; only during account creation, login, and bet placement
  • Florida residents who travel out of state cannot place new bets; they must wait until they return to Florida
